Mathematics
At Buckton Vale we use White Rose Maths which offers a framework to teach the Mathematics Programme of Study as laid out by the National Curriculum and the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Alongside this, we use other high-quality resources, including classroom secrets and ‘power up’ challenges.
We want pupils to become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, to be able to reason and to solve problems. Our lessons embrace these National Curriculum aims with each lesson include fluency, reasoning and problem-solving opportunities for all pupils. Alongside this, we also offer daily ‘flashback 4’ activities, which support children in revisiting prior learning and developing their long-term knowledge.
